Crohn's Disease
What more can I say about it, I have had it since I was 17 and it has made my life well lets say not good. I can think of other ways to describe it, but I don't really want to swear on here :) It started just after my 17 birthday and all I can remember of that was not being able to keep any food down, and spending most of my time after I had eaten throwing up!! It wasn't nice and still isn't. Id like to say things got better for the first year, but I don't think that they did. Was always much of the same, eating and being sick all the time. Tablets were 10 a penny, popping new pills all over the shop that put me down alot. At most I think I was on 14 or 15 tablets a day, I was rattling as I was walking!! lol
After about a couple of years of this and it not getting any better, I made the decision that I was going to go for the Operation to take all the inflamed bits out of my bowel. I thought it was the best thing to do at the time. I suppose it still is, but as I went into the hospital I didn't know what was ahead of me. It was October the 20th 1999 and I was taken into the hospital by my dad, it was just after lunch I think. Dad stayed with me until he had to go, then we had tea, little did I know that this would be the last meal I would have for 9 days!!
Thursday the 21st, this was the day. 10am I was called and the doctor came up and put some stuff on my hands, this was I later found out where they were going to put me to sleep!! Then it all went dark!! Next thing I know was Saturday when I eventually came round. I have been told that people were with me at all times after that, but im buggered if I remember it!! I was high on Morphine!! Being in hospital really opens your eyes, 10 days with not much else to do other than read or watch TV. After 3 or 4 days I can tell you even watching TV is boring!!
I will add more to this later on, and a download in a Document format.
